Occupational Therapy

The TQS integrated model incorporates the benefits of occupational therapy into every class.

Our full-time and part-time occupational therapists observe and support all TQS students.  The therapists assists in the classroom, and provide teachers with strategies to use during the day across all settings.  The therapists offer direct, one-to-one services for an additional fee.

Areas of Focus:

  • Improving sensory processing and self-regulation
  • Enhancing fine and gross motor skills
  • Utilizing and organizing desktop tools and equipment
  • Promoting social interaction
  • Develop handwriting and typing
  • Maintaining correct posture during seated tasks
  • Controlling energy and attention
  • Transitioning between classes, lunch, recess and specials

Upper School families are invited to a Lunch and Learn focused on College Planning for Students with Complex Challenges beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Laura Sibbald, Executive Director of Neurodiversity Initiatives from Chestnut Hill College and Kristen Tabun, Director of Transition from TQS will review with families how to know if their student is ready for college, what to do now to support a transition, and how to successfully navigate the many changes students will face in college.
