The Many Things to be Thankful for!

The Many Things to be Thankful for!

Dear Families:

“If we take care of the moments, the years will take care of themselves.” -- Maria Edgeworth

It was delightful seeing so many of you at Back To School Night last night. This letter marks the end of our fourth week, and our first month, of the 2020-2021 school year. And what a remarkable 30+ days it has been!

As we rejoiced in being back together, either virtually or in the classroom, the leaves outside began to adopt their vibrant fall hues. As we quickly adjusted to maintaining our (excellent) mask-wearing and social distancing, the morning air turned crisp and clear. As we laughed together, smiled together, and encouraged each other, September rolled smoothly into October.

Time marches on. Now, it’s officially Fall, and our “new” school year is starting to feel … comfortable. Easier. Part of our routine. And I could not be more thankful for that.

What started as a time of uncertainty has turned into a school year that, while different, is still fun and familiar. Our community is strong and healthy. Our teachers are happily hard at work. Our families are finding their rhythm once again.

As the season continues its slow march toward the winter months, I hope that we can continue the wonderful progress we have made in these first few weeks -- but to do so, I ask for your help in a few areas:

  • If your child is usually learning from home but would like to attend school in person, please let us know by 7:30 p.m. the night before. (All health forms must be on file at the school in order to attend in person.)
  • Likewise, if your child is usually in the classroom but plans to learn at home one day, please inform the school by 7:30 a.m. that morning.
  • Continue to reinforce the importance of our health and safety measures with your children, both at home and in the classroom.

By working together and taking care of one another, we can ensure that this Fall is a season to remember -- for positive reasons. Thank you again for doing your part to help our community shine.

Shine on,

Alex
