Leading the Change: TQS's New Strategic Direction

Leading the Change: TQS's New Strategic Direction

Dear Families:

When we shine together, we achieve amazing things at The Quaker School at Horsham.

I’ve seen it since day one of my tenure as Head of School. I’ve seen it in our classrooms, among our teachers, within our Board of Trustees. And I’ve seen it during my involvement in the school’s last two strategic planning processes. When our community commits, nothing is impossible.

I believe that’s what makes The Quaker School at Horsham so unique: both our intentions and our actions. We aren’t afraid to evolve with the latest research, set big goals, and execute complex strategies. We aren’t afraid to make bold strides.

This stems directly from our community. TQS is a place where parents, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and supporters CARE. They put in the work. They want what’s best – not only for our school and our students but for all individuals with complex challenges.

That’s why I’m so excited about the opportunity for us all to shine together again in a new direction with our latest plan, Leading the Change.

This strategic direction is a direct result of our Board of Trustees, with our Strategic Planning Committee, reflecting on all that we’ve accomplished since our 2019 strategic plan and asking, “What’s next? What can we do to better support our community moving forward?”

The result is a plan that’s both expansive and attainable. It covers five key goals – Bold Leadership, Authentic Engagement, Emboldened People, Unparalleled Programs, and Audacious Innovation – that will help us change the lives of even more individuals with complex challenges.

For each of these goals, we defined specific strategies and tactics that will allow us to keep our commitments as a community. While innovative, the plan is still rooted in our mission and philosophy – the care, respect, and love that has defined TQS since our founding more than 40 years ago.

I look forward to introducing you to this new strategic direction and keeping you updated and informed as we make bold moves for children with complex challenges. This is a community initiative, and I cannot wait to see what we can accomplish together next.

Shine on,

Alex
