Implementing the Strategic Plan

Implementing the Strategic Plan

Dear Parents:

If it seems like every time you open an email from me, you get delivered big news ... well get used to it, because the next few weeks (months! years!) are going to be pretty epic.

That’s because we are in the early stages of adopting and implementing “Expanding Our Reach, Deepening Our Impact,” an ambitious five-year Strategic Plan that includes the expansion of The Quaker School at Horsham into high school.

I’ve been sharing bits and pieces of that plan with you throughout the summer, and I am now pleased to be able to share the full document. In it, you can read all about our plans for the future of TQS:

To help streamline updates and keep all of you involved in these momentous happenings, we’ve also created a separate blog focused on strategic plan happenings.

Here, you’ll find the latest news on our biggest project -- the construction and formation of the new TQS Upper School -- as well as updates on other initiatives that will help us reach our four major goals: Program Expansion, Stronger Curriculum, Research & Leadership, and Capacity Building.

Prefer updates on the go? I’m also recording short podcast episodes that provide insights into our process over on the Shine Together Podcast -- so if you’re not already a subscriber, check it out now!

Finally, here are our most recent updates and milestones, for those of you following along:

  • TQS welcomed our own Nicole Schwartz as the new Upper School Director, as of August 1.

  • We hired Jennifer Crawford from Blackney Hayes Architects to design our new wing (she also designed our current building).

  • Our recent meeting with the Horsham Township left everyone feeling optimistic.

  • The trailer has been demolished and removed, creating room for the new project by moving the sheds, greenhouse and Farm-to-Table garden to the trailer’s past spot.

There’s a lot to be excited, and thankful, about here at The Quaker School at Horsham -- and it stems from your ongoing support of our community and belief in our mission. Together, we will continue to make each and every TQS student shine brighter, today and in the future.

Thanks for helping us shine on--

Alex
