At what time do students learn best during the day? 

Is it first thing in the morning, right after a hearty breakfast? Is it mid-day, once they refuel at lunch? Or perhaps it’s later in the afternoon, after a rousing game of kickball at recess? 

The actual answer is: it varies. Some students learn better in the morning. Some are more effective and energized in the afternoon. And some change their preferences over time, as they grow and mature.

I have a question for you: if you could design your perfect daily schedule, what would it look like? I’m guessing it would include time to focus on completing necessary tasks, time to explore new interests and time to enjoy the things you love. It would include breaks and moments to reflect and rejuvenate. It would include time to be active and time to be still. It would feel less “busy” and more “fulfilling.”
