Dear TQS Parents,
Welcome to a new and exciting school year. I am the chair of the TQS Parent Association (TQSPA) and I welcome your questions, comments, and concerns any time. Please contact us at mommy1220@comcast.net (Wendy). For school-related questions, please call the school office, (215) 674-2875, ext.10.
To make this year the best it can be, we need your help. At our first Parent Association Meeting in the fall, we will share information about the upcoming year's special events and fundraisers and ask for the help we need. We know that everyone has demands on their time and has their own special strengths, just as our children do! We need everyone's help, so please take the time to consider how you can best support the TQS community.
{parents} If you know now that you would like to volunteer for one of the following positions, please contact us immediately, so that the year can start off strong. If you want to know more about the requirements of the position, please ask! Any of these can be filled by an individual or by co-chairs, and we will help chairs find the assistance they need.

On behalf of the school, we would also like to let you know that the TQS Board needs parent representatives. Each year two parents (not husband and wife) attend monthly evening meetings to represent the Parents before the school committee. Please contact the school office if you are interested.
Parents will have many opportunities to meet during school-sponsored Parent Cafes and other parent workshops on various topics. The Parent Association meetings, held most months, are our chance to do the business of the Association, but also become an informal networking and support system, so attend if you can. Our schedule will be set in the fall, so look out for that information!
The 2009-2010 school year was another very full year but the Parent Association kept up with our nuts-and-bolts work as well, sponsoring the teacher appreciation luncheon, the all-school Thanksgiving luncheon, TQS Day (with the proceeds going as always to the George Rowe Scholarship Fund) and many other small projects that support the school. We'll need the help of all of you not only to keep these essential projects going, but to continue supporting the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund contributes to the operational needs of the school, such as replenishing educational materials. We know you will find your niche and be able to share your strengths to help build our community. Thanks in advance, and please let me know if you have any questions!
