Supporting The {Support TQS} Quaker School at Horsham
The Annual Fund is critical to the well being of The Quaker School at Horsham. This fund makes it possible for us to enhance projects that arise during the year, i.e., teacher training, building and grounds, as well as urgent need for financial aid. Tuition does not completely cover the cost of educating our students. The difference is made up through donations to the Annual Fund as well as our Summer Enrichment Program and various fund-raisers. Donations rise out of the generosity of alumni, parents, grandparents, Special Friends, current and former staff, Quaker friends and their Meetings as well as extended friends such as alumni parents, alumni grandparents, local merchants and gifts through Corporate Matching Gift programs. If a company with a Matching Gifts program employs you or a family member, please be sure to obtain a form from the employer and submit it along with the gift to the school. 2010 Annual Appeal The George Rowe Scholarship Fund was established to honor our founding Head of School, George Rowe. Although financial aid is supported through the Annual Fund, The George Rowe Scholarship Fund is a designated restricted fund that receives gifts solely for the purpose of assisting students who have established a financial need. The Maggie Fine Fund provides direct, ongoing tuition assistance for successful TQS children who are coping with serious financial difficulties. This year, contributions to this fund will be matched up to $30,000 by a Challenge Grant from the Steven C. Leuthold Foundation. You will receive your Maggie Fine appeal in the mail shortly. Please respond generously…and quickly! February 19th is the deadline for receipt of pledges. {Maggie Fine Fund} Visions Campaign Several years ago, our school identified an urgent need to build a new facility to unite the community under one roof and eliminate the isolation created by three buildings spread out over 1/4 mile and a major thoroughfare. We moved into the first part of this building during the summer of 2007, and many events have taken place to celebrate the building. On April 25, 2008, we celebrated the 25th anniversary party in the atrium of our new building. The Visions Campaign continues as we look toward completing the next part of the school that will house administrative offices as well as special classrooms. We invite all to support this project. |
